Race address: Colchester Zoo, Maldon Road, Stanway, Colchester, CO3 0SL

Start Time: 9:00am
Arrival Time: 7.00am – 8:00am

We recommend arriving at the Event Village between 7.00am – 7:40am to park, find your bearings and join in the warm up before the race.

Race Numbers

All race packs are to be collected on the morning of the race from the event village. To collect them you need to make your way down to the registration desk between 7:00am-8:10am.

You will only need one number attached to the front of your shirt. If you have your own pins then that would be great but we will have supplies if needed from the Information desk. Your timing chip will also be in the envelope, this needs to be attached to your shoe as per the instructions on the back of the chip. Without your chip you will not receive an official time.

If you have any queries please get in touch on info@ColchesterStampede.com.

Please make sure you keep your number on at all times during the race. At the finish you can dispose of your chip (we do not need to collect them back). You will find instructions on the back of your chip for how to attach it to your shoe correctly (as below):

Chip Instructions

All runners will be able to enter the zoo for free after the race. You will need to keep hold of your race number to gain entry into the zoo. Colchester Zoo will not be able to admit you for free without it.

The car park is located next to the start and finish line and we therefore recommend leaving any belongings in your car. There will be an informal baggage drop located within the Event Village. If you wish to use the baggage drop, please collect a baggage label from the information desk and attach it to your bag before handing it in.

You will need to show your race number again when collecting your bag to ensure each bag is reunited with its rightful owner.

There will be portaloos within the event village.

Water Stations

There will be water provided at 2.5 miles, 7 miles and 11.5 miles and there will also be water available at the finish.

During the race

We will have marshals all around the course as well as mile markers and arrows. The course will run through the Zoo, then out onto the closed roads for the Half Marathon course before finishing back inside the Zoo. See the course map HERE.

Results will be available on http://www.colchesterstampede.com/ after the race.

We will have a photographer taking a few snaps of the race and they will be on Facebook after the race so be sure to check it out and see if you can spot yourself.

Post Race

Colchester Zoo has a strict policy on no dogs to be left in cars. You cannot leave your dogs unattended in the car for the race or leave them whilst you come into the zoo after the race.
